The Screening & Shared Factory Tool

A practical solution that validates prior facility engagement and identifies shared factories across brands; enabling proportionate engagement, reduced duplication, and stronger cross‑brand collaboration.

What is the Screening & Shared Factory Tool?

The Screening & Shared Factory Tool combines two complementary capabilities to support smarter, more coordinated supplier engagement across brands:

  1. Engagement screening based on historical records of actual RESET Carbon and LRQA‑led engagement
  2. Shared factory identification based on brands’ latest supplier disclosures and facility‑level datasets

Together, these capabilities provide a clear, structured view of both what has already been done at facility level and where suppliers are currently shared across brands, enabling better‑informed engagement strategies from the outset.

1) Engagement screening based on historical records

The screening capability validates whether client‑shared facilities have already been engaged through existing programs (e.g., the Carbon Leadership Program) and methodologies (e.g., CTA, CTS, BPAP, CTM, engineering implementation service, other customized services). Facilities are screened against consolidated internal engagement records and strategic facility lists collected from brands over recent years.

This provides clarity on whether a facility has been previously assessed, the depth of that engagement, and through which program or methodology.

Where prior engagement exists, the Tool enables teams to adjust the level of engagement rather than starting from scratch. For example, if a facility has already completed an in‑depth on‑site energy and carbon assessment under a CTS methodology—resulting in an established baseline, a defined action plan, and a facility‑level target—there is no need to repeat the same assessment steps.

Instead, subject to facility agreement, RESET Carbon can shift to a more targeted and cost‑effective engagement to:

  • Review the implementation progress of the existing action plan and underlying assumptions
  • Validate that the facility‑level target aligns with participating brands’ expectations
  • Focus engagement on tracking, monitoring, and supporting the implementation of decarbonization projects, rather than re‑assessment

This approach reduces the burden on facilities, accelerates progress, and ensures prior investments in technical assessments are fully leveraged.

2) Shared factory identification based on current brand data

In parallel, the Tool performs a shared factory check based on brands’ most recent public supplier lists (one list per brand) and the latest FEM datasets shared by brands (e.g., FEM 2025, one dataset per brand).

This capability identifies facilities that are currently shared across multiple brands, even where no prior RESET Carbon engagement has taken place. By grounding this analysis in brand‑provided data, the Tool reflects the most up‑to‑date view of supplier overlap across participating brands.

Enabling cross‑brand collaboration

By combining historical engagement screening with current shared factory identification, the Screening & Shared Factory Tool enables meaningful cross‑brand collaboration at facility level. It supports:

  • Alignment across brands on facility‑level expectations and decarbonization pathways
  • Opportunities to coordinate engagement approaches, timelines, and data requests
  • Reduced duplication of effort for suppliers engaged by multiple brands

This creates a stronger foundation for coordinated supplier engagement and more efficient, impact‑driven decarbonization programs.

Applied at scoping and onboarding stages

The Screening & Shared Factory Tool is primarily used during client onboarding, program scoping, and early engagement design, where rapid clarity on prior facility engagement and supplier overlap is critical. It enables teams to move faster, design proportionate engagement strategies, and support more coherent collaboration across brands and programs.
