RESET Carbon at the Vietnam Energy Forum: Helping Supply Chains Navigate Renewable Energy in Southeast Asia

On June 16, 2026, RESET Carbon participated in the Vietnam Energy Forum: Policy, Capital & Renewable Solutions, held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi. Co-hosted with Foxconn and Cisco, the forum brought together key supply chain partners to explore Vietnam’s renewable energy market, the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) policy framework, and new models for renewable energy investment.

Why Vietnam, and Why Now

Vietnam has rapidly emerged as one of the most important manufacturing hubs in Asia. But energy transition there is complex. While the DPPA mechanism is advancing, practical execution still involves navigating regulatory changes, grid conditions, and long-term supply stability — making expert guidance essential for companies operating or sourcing in the country.

RESET Carbon’s Role

RESET Carbon joined ACEC, Schneider Electric, and Brookfield to provide technical and advisory expertise throughout the afternoon. Our team contributed to discussions on practical renewable energy procurement for supply chain companies, drawing on our experience supporting multinational brands and their Asian supplier bases.

This is core to what we do. Our renewable energy strategy and procurement services help corporates and suppliers understand their options, structure viable solutions, and move from commitment to execution. For companies in Vietnam, that increasingly means understanding the DPPA framework and how to leverage it to meet both their own sustainability targets and the expectations of global customers.

A Landmark Partnership Announced

A major highlight was Foxconn’s announcement of a strategic partnership with Brookfield Asset Management to jointly develop 1 GW of wind, solar, and energy storage projects in Vietnam, underpinned by long-term power purchase agreements. Foxconn also shared its Captive PPA model, which aggregates energy demand across its supply chain and gives industrial investors a stable, long-term source of green electricity.

Why This Matters for Supply Chains Broadly

The pressures driving this forum are not unique to Vietnam. Across Southeast Asia, manufacturers face growing demands from global customers to demonstrate credible progress on Scope 2 emissions. Our work with Cisco’s suppliers illustrates how this plays out: brands are actively building capability in their supply chains, and suppliers who move early are better positioned to retain and grow those relationships.

Looking Ahead

Vietnam is at an inflection point for clean energy. DPPA access is expanding, international capital is flowing in, and global buyers are raising the bar on supplier sustainability performance.
