PUMA’s Sustainability Roundtable Wrap-up: Advocating for Change in the Textile & Apparel Industry

We are proud that our Principal Consultant, Dr. Sophie You was able to represent RESET at PUMA’s Sustainability Roundtable Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attended by over 200 suppliers in the Textile & Apparel sector, the event was a golden opportunity to drive decarbonization discussions and emphasize the importance of target setting. Sophie spoke on the topic of the Manufacturer Climate Action Plan (MCAP), a program managed by non-profit Cascale which accelerates the adoption of science-aligned targets (SATs) on climate change and a reduction of GHG emissions by apparel, footwear, and textile manufacturers.

With 2030 right around the corner, it is vital that supply chain manufacturers are empowered along the path to decarbonization. A lighter option than SBTi, MCAP provides alternate way for manufacturers to set their Scope 1 & 2 targets whilst adhering to the criteria and requirements of the SBTi and Greenhouse Gas Protocol – the stepping stone to greater future ambition.

Could MCAP be the key to kickstarting your organisation’s decarbonization roadmap? Get in touch with our team today.
