Partnering with The Fashion Pact to Facilitate Science-Based Targets in the Fashion Industry

We are excited to announce a new collaboration with The Fashion Pact, a non-profit organization committed to a net-zero and nature-positive fashion industry. This partnership aims to provide technical support and quality materials to The Fashion Pact’s members currently without Science-Based Targets, promoting a learning environment and dialogue for the wider community.

What is The Fashion Pact?

The Fashion Pact is a global CEO-led initiative representing companies from the fashion and textile industry, across the entire value chain, working together as one to create meaningful, large-scale change and drive progress towards a nature-positive, net-zero future.

Why this collaboration matters

By 2025, every brand and retailer member of The Fashion Pact must commit to, or establish, Science-Based Targets covering scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. To achieve this goal, The Fashion Pact has designed a collective support strategy focusing on expert support and community engagement to achieve this requirement. We are proud to contribute to this strategy, leveraging our extensive experience in apparel and proven SBTi technical expertise.

RESET’s value proposition

For this collaboration, our value proposition is built on three key pillars:

  • Deep apparel sector experience: we boast a strong track record working with industry associations, brands, retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers. We have supported these clients in conducting footprint assessments, developing carbon reduction strategies, and engaging suppliers to drive collaborative climate action. This has been achieved through two of our leading programs, the Carbon Leadership Program (CLP) in collaboration with the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) and the Industry Decarbonization Roadmap (IDR) in collaboration with Cascale.
  • Proven SBTi expertise: our team has successfully assisted over 16 company groups in setting and achieving SBTi-approved GHG emission reduction targets. Our valuable insights into the SBTi process and real-world experience tailoring decarbonization strategies to fashion companies have allowed us to secure SBTi validation for TAL Apparel and several other Asian textile & apparel suppliers earlier this year.
  • Customized education programs: we create tailored training programs covering diverse topics and catering to multiple stakeholders, providing practical, actionable guidance to ensure participants gain relevant and applicable knowledge.

Our shared mission

Some of The Fashion Pact’s members are already RESET clients, including Tapestry, adidas, Polo Ralph Lauren and Ellassay Group, meaning there is already great alignment amongst our respective stakeholders. This formalizing of our collaboration is the next step towards achieving our shared goals within the fashion industry: helping businesses resolve the environmental crisis by making meaningful reductions in their carbon, water, and waste footprint.

What this means for The Fashion Pact members

Through this collaboration, The Fashion Pact members will gain access to:

  • Updated and relevant Science-Based Target content
  • An educational program consisting of webinars, discussions, and “office hours”
  • Inspiring best practices and case studies from other brands and retailers that have successfully validated their Science-Based Targets
  • Collective or engagement sessions and peer to peer learning via The Fashion Pact Secretariat

We look forward to working closely with The Fashion Pact to drive meaningful change in the fashion industry.
