Case Studies
RESET works with both sector leaders and with companies who are at the beginning of their environmental journey. With both groups our goals are the same: to deliver meaningful environmental targets that support the business case.

Carbon & Energy and Renewable
In 2020, RESET supported the SCC team to develop one of the most ambitious carbon reduction targets in Asia’s food and beverage sector. We looked beyond their corporate operations and reviewed their renewable energy procurement, packaging, ingredients, and emissions from cold drinks equipment. RESET continues to work with SCC as they implement these ambitious goals.
RESET has worked with AAHK since 2013 to support their pledge to become the greenest airport in the world. Our services covered carbon inventory development including design and development of complex scope 3 inventories, carbon reduction pledge development, and training of internal teams and business partners. We also helped AAHK to achieve annual certification under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme.
RESET has worked with the Baker team since 2013 on a range of projects, which included the development of its in-house B-Green environmental management programme, a Group level carbon reduction target, a business air travel strategy, and a Carbon Disclosure Project report.

Tesco Lotus
RESET’s engineers worked with Tesco Lotus to design and implement a series of energy saving projects across its Thai retail portfolio, which focused on Building Management System and controls upgrades in large hypermarkets and air handling and ventilation upgrades in smaller stores. Collectively the programmes are delivering annual energy savings of over USD 2m per year.
Water

Swire Pacific
RESET supported Swire Pacific to develop a water footprinting protocol to be used with the group’s operating companies to measure and report their water footprint and performance against water management goals.

American Eagle Outfitters
RESET worked with AEO to develop a Water Leadership Programme for their denim supply chain, which included a benchmarking system for manufacturers based on water performance data submitted through Higg FEM, ZDHC, and wastewater testing. The WLP covers a step-by-step improvement programme and a series of quantitative performance KPIs. RESET in partnership with Sustainable Textile Solutions continues to support the programme by working with suppliers on water audits, wastewater management services, and chemicals management services.
Waste

Melco Resorts
RESET assisted Melco Resorts & Entertainment in undertaking an in-depth resort-level waste composition audit that was the basis for developing a waste reduction and diversion strategy and roadmap across the Group.
The roadmap was used during consultations with operating teams to identify the feasibility of different waste reduction and diversion opportunities. Following the internal consultation, RESET developed an action plan, which defines the tasks, roles and responsibilities, and implementation timeframe for selected opportunities.

Manufacturing
As a strategic partner for AII, RESET helped deliver the Mill Impact Initiative/Clean by Design programme, which is currently being used in over 100 fabric and dye mills to identify and implement energy saving opportunities. RESET continues to support ongoing AII initiatives to develop collaborative approaches to carbon, energy, and chemicals management within the sector.
RESET worked with adidas to deliver a series of environmental programmes for their suppliers, such as providing support to over 20 suppliers implementing adidas’ energy saving goals, technical guidance on energy and water metering in dyeing, footwear, and apparel sites, and the adidas environmental good practice guide.

Ascena Group
RESET supported the ANN INC. brands to develop and implement a 3-year carbon reduction programme with strategic suppliers, which involved implementing over 200 energy saving projects that reduced participating suppliers’ CO2 emissions by 20,000 tonnes and delivered cost savings of USD 3m.
RESET engineers provided onsite support to YRC’s technical team to deliver energy savings of over THB 17m (USD 700,000) annually by implementing a suite of improvements in process cooling, boiler, process water, and stenter systems.
RESET works with C&A on a supplier engagement strategy to support C&A’s Science Based Carbon Target: a GHG reduction of 30% in the supply chain by 2030. Using an innovative set of screening tools, we identified priority sites and emissions reduction technologies to engage suppliers on carbon reduction opportunities.

G-Star Raw
RESET helped G-Star update its supply chain environmental strategy and deliver its chemicals management goals under Greenpeace DETOX commitment, which involved developing a supplier chemicals management performance benchmarking and tracking tool and the delivery of training programmes for suppliers and internal teams.
Raw Materials
RESET worked with value retailer Kmart Australia to review its raw materials inventory and develop procurement targets for its own-brand raw materials. This resulted in procurement commitments on a range of materials, such as a 100% commitment to sustainable cotton by 2020. Within two years Kmart had moved to 90% sustainable cotton sourcing. RESET’s work also resulted in a target to use 50% recycled polyester in own-brand products by 2025. Targets for wood and cocoa were also set.
Lee Jeans
RESET worked with Lee Jeans to conduct life cycle carbon and water footprinting for the ‘Lee Rethink’ range. A shift to using more sustainable raw materials– such as BCI Cotton and recycled polyester fibres– and sustainable manufacturing techniques dramatically reduced the footprint of selected denim products by 30-50%.
